So! Been a while since the 2009 WE-Speak youth conference, and the results are FINALLY ready to be released. So naturally White Elephant is working on a release party at the moment, which you are ALL cordially invited too.
The idea of WE-Speak is to get our (“youths”, 13-25) voice out there and public – in other words, let people know
A: that we give a flying
B: that there are solutions
Before we release the formal report we’re collecting last-minute info, so if you have any input, tap it out in our discussion forum (http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=11941&uid=150872384520) and we’ll add it to the release. This is your LAST CHANCE to contribute to something that will shape the focus of many people’s efforts in 2010, so go nuts, lets hear it!

If you’ve left your house at any point in the past year you’ve probably noticed a fair amount of reconstruction around the bus exchange.
At the moment the Christchurch City Council is taking submissions on the High Street upgrades, and, seeing as the centre of the city is probably THE major hotspot for many of us, it makes sense that we should have our say.
Here is where the info about their planned changes is:

And here is where you go to have your say:

You don’t have to use technical language, or justify your opinion with an essay full of evidence and pointless blabber. It’s just as good (if not better) to blast out a five word submission (“don’t change it, it rules!”), because what is important is your opinions. They do matter, and the more we start making these submissions the more and more the CCC will take the feedback they get into account, making submissions a powerful way for us to get our word out.
Sweet, go to it if you’re keen!
CCC is looking for submissions to rename what was formally known as “Hack Circle” on the redeveloped section of corner High & Cashel Streets.
A committee of councillors + local business people will consider all submissions, which close on 12th October. You can have your say by clicking the link below….
